Gurucul Wins Best User Behavior Analytics Solution

Leading UEBA Vendor Wins Award for Second Consecutive Year Based on Continued Innovations

SAN FRANCISCO – Feb. 13, 2017 – Gurucul, a leader in user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) and identity analytics (IdA) for on-premises and the cloud, today announced that Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) received the Best User Behavior Analytics Solution Award for the second consecutive year from Cyber Defense Magazine (CDM). The awards will be presented at RSA Conference 2017 this week.

Gurucul will demonstrate the GRA platform at booth 2407 in the South Hall at the RSA Conference beginning tomorrow. CEO Saryu Nayyar will also be on hand to sign copies of her new book Borderless Behavior Analytics, which features articles by some of America’s top  CISOs and CSOs exploring the evolution of cyber environments and the emergence of identity as the fulcrum for most of today’s more serious attacks.

“Winning the CDM Award for Best User Behavior Analytics Solution again this year is a tribute and recognition for the fact that we continue to set the pace for new innovations in identity-based security,” said Saryu Nayyar, CEO of Gurucul. “Identity as an attack surface is emerging as a top concern for CSOs and will be a key theme in 2017 and beyond.”

The Cyber Defense Magazine awards are determined by an extensive editorial review and evaluation by independent information security experts. Gurucul is profiled in the magazine’s February issue, which is available in print on the show floor of RSA Conference 2017.

In the past 12 months Gurucul has introduced several industry first technologies including:

Gurucul GRA also reduces excess access and access outliers through a risk-based approach that provides identity analytics to Identity (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions. This closes the awareness gap between what is provisioned and how the access is being utilized, along with discovery of unknown privilege access risks. Gurucul uniquely enables risk-based certifications, requests and approvals while eliminating rubber-stamping and access cloning for new hires and individuals who change roles in an organization.

Finally, Gurucul added hybrid behavior analytics models to its Gurucul Risk Analytics platform which can detect unknown security threats and identity access risks that span both cloud and on-premises environments.
